The Australian Industry Group (Ai Group) has endorsed the VETASSESS skills assessment criteria for the occupations of Manufacturer and Production Manager (Manufacturing).
Ai Group reviewed the VETASSESS assessment criteria for the two occupations and confirmed the criteria are in line with industry practice and reflect expectations for the roles.
The national employer association also clarified aspects of the employment context for the occupations, such as the definition of manufacturing, the size of operations and the types of manufacturing considered acceptable for the two occupations.
Ai Group Chief Executive Innes Willox said:

VETASSESS Executive Director Rob Thomason said the endorsement means skilled manufacturing workers who are planning to migrate to Australia will be assessed against relevant criteria, which will help them find employment when they arrive.
“Manufacturing business employers can also be assured that job applicants will have the skills and experience required,” he said.
“The Ai Group has brought to the review an understanding of the skills needed in Australian manufacturing workplaces.”
