How long will it take to process my application?
Every assessment is different and processing times can vary. We're currently dealing with an unprecedented number of applications, which has extended our processing times.
It is important to ensure you lodge a complete set of required documents when you apply, as this will avoid delays with your application.

Skills Assessments that are close to expiry
Applicants with a Skills Assessment that is close to expiring should consider applying for a renewal of their assessment at the same time as they apply for a state or territory migration program - or earlier. Each state and territory has its own criteria for applications and sometimes the timeframes are short. Applicants will be more likely to avoid disappointment if they apply for a renewal early rather than wait for an invitation from a state or territory. Find out how to renew your Skills Assessment before it expires here.
Update - Trade Applications
We are recruiting more qualified assessors to deal with an increase in applications, but there is strong demand for trade occupations and a shortage of qualified assessors. All applications we receive are processed based on the lodgement date, i.e., the date on which we received payment approval from Trades Recognition Australia (TRA). We know this is frustrating for our applicants and we want to assure you we are doing our best to reduce our assessment times.
